Understanding Files & Folders

What is a File?

A file is a digital document containing information - like a Word document, photo, video, or music file. Each file has a name and extension (e.g., report.pdf, photo.jpg).

What is a Folder?

A folder (also called directory) is a container that stores and organizes files and other folders. Think of it like a digital filing cabinet.
